Abstract
Smart technologies (STs), such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), robots, and self-service technologies takes on critical importance in the context of the regenerative tourism paradigm, which aims to actively improve and revitalize the ecological and social systems with which tourism interacts, going beyond the traditional understanding of sustainability that focuses only on preserving the status quo. The aim of this research is to explore how AI-supported STs can be integrated with regenerative tourism goals. In this regard, the qualitative data were analysed through systematic coding and theming processes conducted by the researchers. Through the discussion of research findings, strategic recommendations were presented regarding the role of AI and STs in the context of regenerative tourism. At this point, we anticipate that this study will make a significant contribution to the literature by examining the potential to achieve regenerative outcomes for society, thereby expanding the use of technology in tourism beyond its current focus on efficiency.
