Abstract

The digitization of healthcare has improved efficiency but exposed patient data to new cyber risks exploited by organ trafficking networks. Stolen medical records hold lasting value, enabling identity fraud and falsified donor-recipient data. This chapter explores how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can strengthen cybersecurity by detecting anomalies in electronic health records and predicting insider threats. It proposes a Co-Creation Framework combining AI, blockchain, and ethical governance through collaboration among clinicians, technologists, and policymakers. Real-world cases, including Hyderabad's Jeevandan Program and Kenya's Mediheal Hospital, highlight the urgency of AI-driven, transparent, and accountable systems that protect data integrity and help prevent organ trafficking while maintaining patient trust.
