Abstract
<jats:p>This chapter analyzes global developments and growth that demand change. Surabaya is one of the big cities that has experienced rapid social and economic development and growth, making Surabaya the center of economy, trade, and industry in the eastern region of Indonesia. Supported by relatively advanced infrastructure conditions, including transportation and road networks. However, Surabaya faces significant challenges in responding to rapid urbanization. Environmental problems are the main problems, namely the lack of optimal waste management, energy crisis, environmental degradation, and slum settlements, as well as the lack of an integrated digital technology system in environmental spatial management. Policies related to the integration of advanced technology with sustainability systems are a strategic step in responding to the urban environment effectively.</jats:p>
