Abstract
Digital volunteerism, also known as virtual volunteering or online volunteerism, is a modern approach to community service that leverages digital technologies to enable individuals to contribute their time, skills, and expertise to causes and organizations remotely. Unlike traditional forms of volunteering that require physical presence, digital volunteerism offers flexibility, accessibility, and scalability, making it a powerful tool in today's interconnected world. This paradigm shift in volunteerism is facilitated by the widespread availability of the internet, smartphones, collaborative platforms, and digital communication tools, enabling volunteers to participate from anywhere in the world, at any time. At its core, digital volunteerism embodies the same altruistic spirit as conventional volunteer work—serving the greater good and supporting social, environmental, educational, or humanitarian causes—but with enhanced efficiency and reach.
