Abstract
<jats:p>Zurich, Switzerland is recognized as the world's leading smart city as per the Smart City Index 2024. It leverages advanced technologies to drive sustainable innovation. The study focuses on the role of advanced and emerging technologies in transforming Zurich into a model smart city. The study explores how AI-powered solutions contribute to urban efficiency and sustainability. The study evaluates the impact of smart city initiatives on 15 key sustainability indicators important to a smart city. The data is collected from government reports, industry publications, academic research etc. The findings highlight the Zurich strategic approach to integrating AI in urban planning, offering valuable lessons for cities throughout the world to achieve sustainability through digital transformation.</jats:p>
