Abstract
<jats:p>This chapter explores the future of smart homes and IoT systems by 2030, emphasizing conversational AI for emotionally intelligent, adaptive environments. Beyond basic commands, homes will respond with contextual understanding, enabled by federated edge computing, ambient intelligence, and 6G networks. These systems will detect emotional cues, health, and behaviours to perform anticipatory actions in climate control, nutrition, and safety. The concept of AI-powered voice-digital twins avatars representing individual users will manage routines, security, and entertainment, and connect across smart city networks. Ethical considerations such as AI hallucinations, consent, and transparency are discussed, along with safeguards such as emotion-aware access and voice verification. This chapter envisions a sustainable, empathic future using quantum edge AI, neuromorphic processors, and blockchain to create human-AI habitation where voice is central to interaction.</jats:p>
