Abstract

The fruit market has expanded enormously in recent years, and fruit picking is a necessary process in the fruit-growing process. It is always so difficult to pick fruits at harvest time, nonetheless. Scientists have performed many experiments on autonomous fruit-picking machines with the hopes of solving the difficulties of lengthy, expensive, and wasteful fruit picking. The goal is to increase the percentage of high-quality fruit picked by testing the capacity of AI-driven robots to differentiate between ripe and unripe fruit. This paper presents that the labour used in traditional harvesting techniques is time-consuming, expensive, and prone to inefficiencies. This paper addresses the application of robotic automation and deep learning-based computer vision for precise fruit harvesting in orchards. The research shows that fruit harvesting is more effective and accurate through robotic harvesting with AI.
