Abstract

<jats:p>Sport has multifaceted effects, from breaking down social exclusion to fighting for freedom. This makes sport a fundamental tool of social policy. It positions sport as a core component of social policies that enhance individual well-being and social citizenship. The main objective of this study is to highlight the impact of sport on well-being and to determine which country uses sport more effectively as a social policy. Fort his purpose, chapter is the development of the “Sport-Friendly Country Index,” designed to classify 37 countries based on their implementation of sport-related welfare policies. Using “Min-Max Normalization,” the index evaluates 14 parameters, including sport-related GDP expenditure, employment, volunteering rates, and bureaucratic structures. The analysis reveals that welfare typologies significantly influence a nation's “sport-friendly” score.</jats:p>
