Abstract
The rapid expansion of Financial Technology has transformed financial service delivery by reshaping operational processes, risk profiles, and governance structures. While FinTech enhances efficiency, transparency, and financial inclusion, it also challenges traditional internal control and risk governance frameworks designed for slower, centralised environments. This chapter examines the dynamic interaction between FinTech innovation, internal controls, and risk governance in the digital financial ecosystem. Using a conceptual and integrative approach, it analyses how technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, simultaneously strengthen and weaken existing control and governance mechanisms. The chapter introduces the Triangular Evaluation Model, which conceptualises FinTech, internal controls, and risk governance as interdependent and dynamically interacting dimensions. Drawing on global regulatory and ethical perspectives, it highlights how aligned innovation, adaptive controls, and proactive governance can enhance organisational resilience and trust
