Abstract
The field of artificial intelligence (AI) is a scientific endeavor that seeks to replicate human cognitive functions such as learning, problem-solving, reasoning, and language comprehension. Specifically, generative artificial intelligence has transformative effects on various sectors like health, education, finance, and engineering. This article focuses on the role of AI in education multidimensionally. First, the history and development of AI and its impact on education is handled. Subsequently, the utilization of AI such as in learning processes, assessment and evaluation, content generation, administrative support systems, the role of educators, and special education are elaborated. Additionally, the ramifications of AI-based systems on ethical concerns, data security, bias, and transforming roles of educators and students are examined. It is implied that instead of using AI blindly, ethical and responsible use needs to be encouraged for improving the learning-teaching process.
