Abstract
<jats:p>Özel eğitimde değerler eğitimi, akademik gelişimin ötesinde bireyin karakter inşası ve toplumsal entegrasyonu için hayati bir süreçtir. Normalizasyon ilkesi çerçevesinde ele alınan bu süreç, özel gereksinimli bireylerin etiketlenme riskini azaltarak sosyal bariyerleri aşmalarına yardımcı olur. Değerlerin her engel grubunun (otizm, zihinsel yetersizlik, öğrenme güçlüğü vb.) özel ihtiyaçlarına göre bireyselleştirilmesi (BEP) gerektiği vurgulanmaktadır. Sosyal Öğrenme Kuramı gibi kuramsal temellere dayanan bu süreçte; öğretmenin rol model olması, aile ile kurulan tutarlı iş birliği ve soyut kavramların drama veya oyun gibi yöntemlerle somutlaştırılması eğitimin başarısını belirleyen temel unsurlardır. Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Modeli ile de ilişkilendirilen bu yaklaşım, iyi insan olma hedefini merkeze alarak bireyin bağımsız yaşamını ve öz değerini desteklemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Sonuç olarak değerler eğitimi, özel eğitimin lüks bir eklentisi değil, asli ve vazgeçilmez bir unsurudur. In special education, values education is a vital process for character development and social integration that goes beyond academic growth. Addressed within the framework of the principle of normalization, this process helps individuals with special needs overcome social barriers by reducing the risk of stigmatization. It is emphasized that values must be individualized (IEP) according to the specific needs of each disability group (autism, intellectual disability, learning disability, etc.). In this process, which is grounded in theoretical foundations such as Social Learning Theory, the teacher’s role as a model, consistent collaboration with the family, and the concretization of abstract concepts through methods like drama or play are the key elements determining the success of education. Linked to the Turkey Century Education Model, this approach aims to support the individual’s independent life and self-worth by centering the goal of becoming a “good person.” Consequently, values education is not a luxury add-on to special education but an essential and indispensable component.</jats:p>
