Abstract
<jats:p>Geçmişten bugüne geleneksel ve tamamlayıcı tıp uygulamalarından biri olan ve enerji terapileri içerisinde yer alan tam spektrum ışık terapisi, hem tıbbi tedavi ve bakımı destekleyici olarak ve hem de birincil tedavi olarak kullanılmıştır. Cerrahi bakım alanında ışık terapisinin, kas-iskelet sistemi sorunları, plastik ve rekonstrüktif cerrahi, yara bakımı ve enfeksiyon kontrolünde etkin olarak kullanıldığı bildirilmiştir. Hemşireler ışık terapisinin öncülerinden biri olan Florence Nightingale’in uygulamalarından ilham alarak, helyoterapi ve fototerapi döneminde cerrahi hasta bakımında etkin rol oynamışlardır. Full-spectrum light therapy, which is one of the traditional and complementary medical practices from past to present, has been used both as a supportive treatment for medical treatment and as a primary treatment. In the field of surgical care, light therapy is known to be used effectively in musculoskeletal problems, plastic and reconstructive surgery, wound care, and infection control. Inspired by the practices of Florence Nightingale, one of the pioneers of light therapy, nurses have played an active role in surgical patient care during both heliotherapy and phototherapy.</jats:p>
