STUDYING THE LEVEL OF DEVELOPMENT OF INTEREST IN READING PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

<jats:p>The article reveals the issues of the theory of the formation of interest in reading among younger schoolchildren. The concept of «interest in reading» is investigated through the following definitions: «reading», «reading activity», «reading literacy», «need for reading», «reader interest», «components of interest in reading». Reading is one of the main ways of obtaining information, mastering the knowledge accumulated by mankind in the broadest sense, therefore, it is necessary to study the level of development of students’ interest in reading.</jats:p>
