Abstract
<jats:p>The relevance of this study stems from the need to incorporate hypertext foreign language materials into the educational process as a means of creating an authentic foreign language environment. The article explores the classification, types, and parameters of hypertext materials, identifying their advantages and disadvantages. The study results in the development of requirements for designing authentic hypertexts in a foreign language, a working algorithm for their use, and methodological recommendations for instructors at non-linguistic universities.</jats:p>
