Abstract

<jats:p>The article analyzes the prospects for the introduction of Central Bank Digital Currencies as a basis for building an effective system for their regulation. The key features of CBDCs, their architecture, basic operating principles, as well as potential benefits for the financial system are considered, including increased settlement speed, transparency, and payment accessibility. Particular attention is paid to the risks associated with the introduction of CBDCs, such as the outflow of liquidity from the banking sector and problems of social adaptation. In conclusion, a system of measures aimed at improving the functioning of CBDCs is considered.</jats:p>
