Abstract

The Authors of this volume, with different perspectives and emphases, from a multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary point of view, analyse the pervasiveness of discriminatory phenomena such as sexism, homophobia, racism, “childism,” and ableism, which are linked and intersect in a web of marginalization and lack of respect for human rights, which characterize the different cultural, legal, and institutional realities of our communities. The essays collected here invite us to continue studying these phenomena in order to deepen our reflection on their causes and, above all, on their manifestations, which are not always easily visible. At the same time, the research carried out and presented in this volume points to the possibility of taking a critical yet proactive stance, hypothesizing effective courses of action to combat various forms of discrimination.
