Abstract
The monograph constitutes the fourth volume in a series devoted to entrepreneurship, presenting the outcomes of collaborative work conducted by the academic and teaching staff of the Department of Management and students of the Management programme at the Lublin University of Technology. The publication is the result of a multi-stage research and educational partnership, and its authors undertake an effort to systematise and provide an in-depth interpretation of selected issues that underpin organisations’ entrepreneurial orientation. Three pillars regarded as particularly important for shaping entrepreneurial attitudes and behaviours are placed at the centre of the analysis: competencies, motivation, and interpersonal relationships. The book illustrates, on the one hand, the competencies developed by scholars and students while working on successive chapters, and, on the other, the motivation that has enabled the production of the fourth instalment in the series, as well as the relationships integrating all participants in this process — relationships grounded in cooperation, mutual support, and trust. Contemporary organisations operate in conditions marked by high dynamism and uncertainty, both in their external environment and within internal organisational settings. Technological change, increasing process complexity, and competitive pressure necessitate continuous competence development, the strengthening of motivation, and the cultivation of effective social relationships. The monograph comprises eleven chapters addressing, among other topics, competence development and its significance for management, processes of personal and professional development, the dynamics of functioning in diverse teams, and the role of trust as a factor facilitating collaboration and innovation. The presented empirical findings and theoretical considerations may contribute to deepening existing knowledge, provide impetus for further scientific inquiry, and offer inspiration for practitioners seeking tools to reinforce entrepreneurial orientation in organisations.
