Abstract

<jats:p>This article analyzes the role of the course “Technologies of Distance and Blended Learning” in the professional training of Ph.D. candidates in the A1 Educational Sciences specialization. The relevance of implementing distance and blended learning technologies is substantiated in the context of the digitalization of education, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the russian-Ukrainian war, which have necessitated ensuring the continuity of the educational process in higher education institutions. The place of the discipline in the educational and scientific program for training PhD candidates is defined, and its content is described. It has been established that the course combines the theoretical foundations of distance and blended learning with practical training for students in the use of modern digital platforms, learning management systems, massive open online courses, online communication services, and tools for creating digital educational content. Particular attention is paid to practice-oriented teaching methods, including project-based learning, the case study method, collaborative learning, modeling the professional activities of a higher education instructor, and the creation of elements for distance learning courses. It has been established that an important component of professional training is the development of skills in critically analyzing digital educational resources and adhering to the principles of academic integrity, digital ethics, and information security. It has been demonstrated that studying this course contributes to the development of professional, digital, communication, and pedagogical competencies among future PhD candidates, as well as to the development of their ability to organize the educational process in both distance and blended formats, facilitate effective digital interaction, conduct online assessment, and utilize modern information and communication technologies in their professional practice.</jats:p>
