Abstract

Higher education faces the challenge of making strategic decisions based on large volumes of dispersed information. This chapter proposes a systemic approach grounded in the Soft Systems Methodology (SSM), complemented by data analytics and visualization tools (Tableau), to build and validate institutional indicators that strengthen academic management. The model combines a mixed approach that integrates the qualitative interpretation of processes with the quantitative analysis of information, allowing data to be transformed into useful knowledge to improve planning, efficiency, and the student experience. The study emphasizes accessibility, visual clarity, and systemic interpretation as means to consolidate evidence-based decision-making. The result is an adaptable, empirically validated, and replicable proposal that brings together the principles of systems engineering, data analytics, and university management to promote continuous improvement and organizational learning.
