Abstract

<jats:p>The article examines lexical-semantic features of compound words in the ancient Turkic language within Mahmud Kashgari's work. Comparative-historical method was applied using traditional research and materials for determining the origins of the studied lexemes. Compound words were analyzed through comparison of dialectal, related, and unrelated languages. Research covered changes in word meanings and the structural arrangement of components. Linguistic data from the monument were compared with modern Kyrgyz language materials in historical-comparative research. Etymological analysis enabled establishing individual words' affiliation to root elements and identifying phonetic changes. The work contributes significantly to Turkic linguistics studies and Kyrgyz linguistic development through systematic historical material analysis.</jats:p>
