Abstract
<jats:p>This scholarly publication, dedicated to Professor Krzysztof M. Ciałowicz, honours his many years of research at the Institute of Archaeology of the Jagiellonian Universityin Krakow and the archaeological discoveries he made in Egypt. The Professor’s discoveries and scholarly work are renowned worldwide, and artefacts from his excavations are currently on display at the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo. The immense significance of the Professor’s scholarly work is being recognized by scholars from around the world. The texts submitted for the publication are a token of appreciation. These include articles by researchers from Poland and abroad. The publication, prepared by the Professor’s long-time collaborators, consists of 21 texts. They cover topics ranging from ancient Egypt in the 4th to 3rd millennium BC, which overlap with the Professor’s main research interests, to later periods and other areas and the civilizations that developed there.</jats:p>
