Abstract
<jats:p>Education in the modern world should be innovative in its essence, because one of the most important elements of a modern innovative society is an innovative education system. The article considers modern views on innovations in education, provides some classifications of innovations in education, and touches on the formation of innovation-oriented education. Therefore, it is clear that the introduction of the concept of "innovation" in this socio-cultural context is of particular importance. Thus, the initial concept of innovation is the creation of a new production function. It is based on the development of technology, organizational progress, changes in social values and norms. In other words, innovations are primarily a social and personal category, not an instrumental and technological one. The social aspects of innovation arise primarily from its connection with human needs. It can be said that the social orientation is the most important feature of innovation. No innovation can be socially neutral.</jats:p>
