Abstract
<jats:p>This article deals with the concept of national identity and its different types. It is also revealed that Kyrgyzstan is a multinational country, each ethnic group has its own history and present. This variety implies its own hierarchy, classification and systematization. The concept of "national identity" is relatively new: it began to be used in philosophical research in the post-Soviet period, and a clear and generally accepted definition of this complex phenomenon has not yet been developed. Therefore, in order to interpret its essence and structural content from a pedagogical point of view, we will analyze the concepts "ethnos", "nation", "people" related to this term, which are reflected in scientific works. he concept of "national identity", its structure and ways of identification are analyzed. The communication potential of national identity and its importance in shaping the image of the country are considered separately. It is shown that it is formed on the basis of the dominant paradigm at the intersection of national-historical, social-psychological, socio-cultural, political-cultural, etc. sphere. Its content includes established features of national culture, ethnic characteristics, customs, beliefs, myths, moral imperatives, etc. A significant place is given to the analysis of the causes and factors contributing to the crisis of national identity.</jats:p>
