Abstract
Under the thematic “Tourism Mutations” this symposium aimed to highlight the evolution of tourism and tourism-related research in a world which is rapidly altering in response to global conditions. Tourism is a constantly evolving phenomenon, influenced by multiple dynamics, such as technological innovations, environmental imperatives, geopolitical transformation, societal shifts and migratory patterns, and territorial re-compositions. These transformations not only influence tourism practices but also challenge the conceptual and methodological frameworks used to analyse them. The eighth edition of the International Symposium for Young Researchers in Tourism was hold in Girona, Spain on 3, 4, and 5 of September 2025. It was jointly organized by doctoral and postdoctoral researchers from INSETUR (Tourism Institute) from University of Girona and the EIREST (Interdisciplinary Research Team in Tourism) from the University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne. The International Symposium aims to provide a platform for sharing research and exchanging feedback, as well as collaborating and creating networks among peers and established researchers
