Abstract
The article clarifies how a transformation of religious consciousness becomes possible when representatives of Russian confessions adopt a dualistic position that contradicts their own religion. The first part of the article analyzes the structure of religious experience, which includes existential, psychological, and social levels, and explains the emergence of such positions as religious escapism, immoral loyalism, and quasi-religious loyalism. The phenomenological method of philosophy is used for the analysis. In the second part, this categorical framework is applied to examine the positions of representatives of Russian confessions.
