Abstract
The article presents the results of a theoretical study on the problem of the psycho-emotional state of student youth in the context of the modern educational environment. The relevance of the topic is determined by a significant increase in psycho-emotional stress among students, which is associated with the intensification of the educational process, high academic demands, information overload, and a decrease in the level of physical activity. Taken together, these factors negatively affect mental health, emotional stability, and overall well-being of young people. The aim of the study is to identify the characteristics of the psycho-emotional state of student youth and to scientifically substantiate the effectiveness of physical exercises as a means of its correction. To achieve the research aim, a set of theoretical methods was used, including analysis, generalization, and systematization of scientific and methodological literature, as well as comparison of the results of modern domestic and foreign studies on the given issue. The study found that the psycho-emotional state of students is a complex and multifactorial phenomenon formed under the influence of both internal (individual psychological characteristics) and external factors (learning conditions, social environment, level of physical activity). It has been revealed that a low level of physical activity contributes to increased anxiety, emotional exhaustion, and decreased stress resistance. It has been proven that regular physical exercise has a positive impact on the psycho-emotional state of student youth, contributes to the normalization of the emotional background, reduction of anxiety levels, improvement of mood, and increase in overall performance. Aerobic exercise, active games, and recreational types of physical activity play a particularly important role. The generalization of the obtained results makes it possible to substantiate the feasibility of introducing physical exercises into the system of physical education in higher education institutions as an effective non-pharmacological means of correcting the psycho-emotional state of students and preventing emotional burnout.
