Abstract

This article examines the strategic directions for the development of Ukrainian agricultural enterprises in the context of European integration. It is argued that current transformational processes in the agricultural sector are accompanied by stricter requirements for product quality, safety, and competitiveness, which necessitates the adaptation of enterprises to European Union standards. It is determined that the key factors of strategic development are innovation, investment support, the digitalization of production processes, and integration into international markets. A comparative analysis of the level of innovative development in Ukraine’s agricultural sector and that of selected EU countries was conducted, revealing a significant gap in terms of digitalization, the adoption of precision farming technologies, the use of Big Data tools, and the level of state support for innovation. It has been established that the integration of agricultural enterprises into the European economic space is complicated by the presence of institutional, technological, and economic barriers that limit the realization of export potential. This study analyzes the trends in the development of organic production in Ukraine over the past decade, which was characterized by growth between 2014 and 2020 and a decline between 2021 and 2023 due to the impact of the war. It is argued that the organic sector has significant potential but requires increased government support and integration into European value chains. The strategic directions for the development of agricultural enterprises are summarized, covering innovation and technology, investment and finance, integration and market, environmental, digital, and cooperative components. It has been established that their implementation will contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the agricultural sector, ensuring its sustainability, and effective integration into the European economic space.
