Abstract
<jats:p>The chapter is devoted to the key aspects of the formation and implementation of state policy in the field of social and economic development of the region. The author examines the main mechanisms and tools used to improve the quality of life of the population, including social programs, investment projects and infrastructure development initiatives. Based on statistical data, strategic documents, national projects, and state programs, the article analyzes the standard of living and quality of life of the population of the Murmansk Region as a constituent entity of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. Factor analysis allowed identifying the problems that negatively affect the quality and standard of living of the region's population and suggesting ways to address them.</jats:p>
