Abstract
<jats:p>The instability of the current macroeconomic environment necessitates the development of specific approaches to managing the regional socioeconomic system, which highlights the importance of identifying its characteristics, conditions of formation, and development. The study used a methodological approach based on system analysis to reveal the essence of the regional socio-economic system. Methods of analysis, synthesis, and scientific abstraction were applied to determine the qualitative characteristics and formulate the author's definitions of the concepts under study. It was concluded that the most important systemic quality of the regional socio-economic system is its resilience, which allows it to adapt to changes and lay the foundation for its further development and the development of the macro-system as a whole. In order to achieve sustainable development of the Russian Federation, it is necessary to effectively use internal resources and involve innovative technologies in the reproduction process, in accordance with the trends of global economic development.</jats:p>
