Abstract
<jats:p>Mentoring is an effective tool that promotes the development of professional competencies, helps to transfer knowledge and skills, promotes the formation of professional values, the development of critical thinking and a creative approach to solving problems. In the process of professional training of students and cadets, mentoring is also aimed at their support and development, as well as preparation for future professional activities, which is becoming increasingly relevant, given the conditions of the rapidly changing labor market and increasing requirements for the qualifications of specialists. This chapter examines the key aspects of mentoring, its role and importance in the educational process, analyzes mentoring models, as well as forms of interaction between mentors and mentees.</jats:p>
