Abstract

This article lays the foundations of Axiometry, a discipline dedicated to the formal study of value that complements the qualitative axiology of Scheler, Hartmann, and Hartman. Axiometry bridges the gap between value theory and real cognitive and social systems by resolving the ambiguity between value's ontological substrate and its epistemological manifestation. Its architecture rests on four principles: (1) the Axon —a minimal unit of valuative donation demonstrated via reductio ad absurdum— is the supraimmanent condition for a phenomenon to be apprehended as valuable. (2) The Axon actualizes through phenomenal donation. (3) The Axiometric Correlation Principle defines apprehension as the irreducible correlation between the subject's valuating noesis and the Axon. (4) The General Principle of Phenomenological Coupling explains how their encounter produces communicable predicates within a shared Paradigmatic Space. This framework models historical value dynamics: normal axiological science, crises arising from paradigmatic exceptions, inertia, and revolutions. It introduces Adaptive Valence, proto-value, neotropes, and axiological residue, situating its mechanics within Gramsci's interregnum. Axiometry complements historical materialism by formalizing its subjective mechanisms and offers a unified language for understanding social conflicts and cultural transitions.
