Abstract
<p>This report describes the development of standardized text stimuli representing different positions on migration in Germany. The objective was to create ecologically valid materials based on authentic public discourse. Common arguments concerning migration were collected from German media coverage and online comment sections, resulting in a pool of 33 items. These items were subsequently validated in an online study (N = 629), in which participants categorized each item according to whether it would most likely be expressed by someone who is in favour of migration, neutral towards =migration, or against migration in Germany. The categorization data were then used to identify items that most consistently represented positive, neutral, and negative positions. These items served as the basis for constructing ten standardized stimulus texts representing a continuum of migration attitudes ranging from strongly opposed to strongly supportive. To enhance ecological validity, the final texts were edited to resemble authentic participant responses by introducing minor typographical and grammatical errors.</p>
