Abstract
The research aims to create a program for the psycho-pedagogical correction of low self-esteem in older preschoolers. The article presents a psycho-pedagogical correction program that requires the educator to implement a set of specific conditions designed to facilitate a child’s self-discovery and self-acceptance, while fostering self-regulation techniques for their emotions, behavior, and activities. The scientific novelty of the study lies in identifying the specific developmental features of the cognitive, emotional-evaluative, and behavioral components of self-esteem in older preschoolers with low self-regard. The work further involves elaborating the content, methods, and tools for psycho-pedagogical correction and determining the conditions necessary for these children to form an adequate self-image. As a result of the research, significant differences were identified in the formation of self-esteem components: cognitive (insufficient self-awareness and development of critical thinking), emotional-evaluative (self-dissatisfaction, anxiety), and behavioral (lack of confidence, passivity, and a lack of independence in judgments and actions). The study developed the content and established the psycho-pedagogical conditions and methods for the educator’s work. These measures ensure success for every child, involve children in the process of self-discovery and reflective evaluation of their behavior against established norms, and foster an awareness of their own capabilities by enriching positive experiences of comparing their achievements with the results of their peers in productive activities.
