Abstract
<jats:p>The research aims to identify practical methods for applying artificial intelligence (AI) tools to create an immersive environment within the context of teaching English to technical university students. The article examines the advantages of using immersive learning in linguodidactics and defines the concept of an “immersive educational environment” as it pertains to students’ foreign language training. Based on the environmental approach, the study reveals the factors and associated pedagogical conditions that enable the development of an immersive English language learning environment at a technical university through the application of AI tools. Practical work was conducted with students at a technical university to verify the effectiveness of the proposed pedagogical conditions. The scientific novelty of the study lies in identifying a set of pedagogical conditions for creating an immersive English language learning environment. These conditions include ensuring the accessibility of AI tools, training students in interaction techniques with these tools to enhance engagement, and enriching the Foreign Language in Professional Activity course with AI-generated materials to immerse students in the context of foreign language communication. As a result of the research, examples of assignments developed using a suite of AI tools are proposed, specifically tailored for students majoring in the Application and Operation of Special-Purpose Automated Systems. The findings of the experimental work are disclosed, substantiating the effectiveness of the proposed practical methods for creating an immersive foreign language learning environment.</jats:p>
