Abstract
<jats:p>In the article principles of selection of Russian phraseological units offered for study in a foreign audience are considered. Choosing the established in teaching practice array of phraseosemantic fields the author offers an additional classification principle by key components of phraseological units. As a material phraseological units with plant, geometrical and aqua components are chosen. Such approach allows us to consider phraseology as a cultural phenomenon, to demonstrate the main images of Russian culture and to provide students with a deeper understanding of their meaning, contributing to the consolidation of educational material.</jats:p>
