Abstract
<jats:p>Рассматривается участие граждан в обеспечении обороны страны и безопасности государства как новое научное направление исследования. Автор обосновывает, что понятие участия граждан в обеспечении обороны страны и безопасности государства в большей мере отвечает необходимости обеспечения защиты государства от внутренних и внешних военных угроз, как связанных, так и не связанных с применением военной силы и необходимостью отражения вооруженного нападения, а также представляет собой не элемент правового статуса личности, а форму волеизъявления гражданина, легитимизирующего существование государства.</jats:p> <jats:p>The article examines the participation of citizens in ensuring the defense of the country and the security of the state as a new scientific direction of research. The author substantiates that the concept of citizen participation in ensuring the defense of the country and the security of the state to a greater extent meets the need to ensure the protection of the state from internal and external military threats, both related and not related to the use of military force and the need to repel an armed attack, and also represents not an element of the legal status of an individual, but a form of expression of the will of a citizen legitimizing the existence of the state.</jats:p>
