Abstract
<jats:p>В условиях непростой международной обстановки особую важность приобретают культура и искусство, способные объединять народы. Между Японией и Россией основной фигурой всех духовных контактов между странами является святой равноапостольный Николай Японский. В статье дается обзор истории японской православной иконографии: от деятельности известной иконописицы XIX века Ямаситы Рин, до современного творчества Кодзуки Ватанабе и Хироко Кодзуки.</jats:p> <jats:p>In the context of a difficult international situation, culture and art, capable of uniting nations, are of particular importance. Between Japan and Russia, the main figure of all spiritual contacts between the two countries is St. Nicholas of Japan, Equal-to-the-Apostles. The article provides an overview of the history of Japanese Orthodox iconography: from the work of the famous 19th-century icon painter Yamashita Rin, to the modern work of Kozuki Watanabe and Hiroko Kozuki.</jats:p>
