Towards a new discussion on Hellenism: several words in connection with S. Y. Saprykin’s position

<jats:p>In several recent articles, S.Y. Saprykin offered his views on the Hellenistic society. The author of the present article argues against some points of his conception, particularly against exaggeration by that scholar of economic factors in the emergence of Hellenism.</jats:p>
