Abstract
<jats:p>В Старой Руссе обнаружены различные кожаные изделия с надписями и знаками. Среди них – фрагменты мягких выворотных туфель с вырезанными на них двухбуквенными надписями (XII в.), обрезок толстой кожи с надписью из четырех букв (1370–1390-х гг.), деталь голенища сапога со знаком в виде отзеркаленной буквы «А» (XII–XV вв.), кожаный мяч с надписью (XIV в.). В слоях, датированных преимущественно XVII–XIX вв., найдены подошвы обуви с клеймами в виде тисненых линий и клеймами, нанесенными круглыми штампами в виде многолепестковых розеток, кружков и кружков с «ресничками». Представленные находки дополняют материалы по истории ремесленного производства кожаной обуви, а также распространении письменности в быту и особенностях бытового письма в средние века.</jats:p> <jats:p>Various leather products with inscriptions and signs carved on them were found in Staraya Russa. Among them there are fragments of soft shoes with two-letter inscriptions (12th cent.), a piece of thick leather with an inscription of four letters (1370- 1390-ies.), a detail of the boot top with a sign in the form of a mirrored letter “A” (12th–15th cent.), a leather ball with an inscription (14th cent.). In layers of the 17th–19th centuries the soles of branded shoes were found. One group consists of embossed lines around the arch of the foot, the second of impressions of round stamps (multi-petalled sockets, circles and circles with “cilia”). The presented artifacts complement the materials on the history of handicraft production of leather shoes, the spread of writing in everyday life and peculiarities of everyday writing in the Middle Ages.</jats:p>
