Abstract

This paper analyzes the possibilities of treating construction and demolition waste (CDW) in the city of Novi Sad through a comparison of two technical and logistical approaches: the use of a stationary crusher located at the city landfill and the deployment of three mobile crushers distributed across the urban area. The analysis is based on data from the City Construction Waste Management Action Plan (2025–2031) and relevant European studies. The aim is to assess the economic and environmental feasibility of both systems and propose an optimal model for the city of Novi Sad. Results indicate that mobile crushers have lower total costs and CO₂ emissions, while stationary systems provide more stable operation and consistent material quality. A combined model is recommended as the most suitable solution for sustainable construction waste management.
