Abstract
<jats:p>Статья представляет собой рецензию на коллективную монографию "Социально-экономическое развитие региона Большого Индийского океана". В работе последовательно рассмотрены результаты исследования проблем, связанных с текущей внутриполитической динамикой в странах региона, а также ситуацией в сфере международных отношений. Представленные в монографии материалы отражают картину масштабных социально-экономических и политических изменений в обществах Южной и Юго-Восточной Азии, состояние дел в их энергетическом секторе, перспективы внедрения и реализации в регионе технологических инноваций, а также вызовы и риски устойчивому развитию.</jats:p> <jats:p>This article is a review of the collective monograph "Socioeconomic Development of the Greater Indian Ocean Region". The work consistently examines the results of research of the issues related to current domestic political dynamics in the countries of the region, as well as the situation in international relations. The materials presented in the monograph reflect a picture of large-scale socioeconomic and political changes in the societies of South and Southeast Asia. The authors focus on the situation in the energy sector of the Greater Indian Ocean states, including the potential for a "green transition". Opportunities for international cooperation in energy and high technology are analyzed. Prospects for the introduction and implementation of technological innovations in the region, including the benefits and challenges of technical progress, are examined. The risks and threats to the sustainable development of societies and economies in the region are addressed, including taking into account the specific environmental agenda and increasing competition between extra-regional actors.</jats:p>
