Abstract
<jats:p>This article highlights the importance of forming professional and value-based orientations among employees of internal affairs bodies in the process of their professional development and growth. It explores the psycho-logical aspects of professional and value orientations, which directly affect the quality, success, and effective-ness of performing professional duties. The article presents the results of a study of professional and value orientations conducted using methods that allow for the evaluation of each component of this psychological construct such as the Career Anchors technique (E. Schein), the “Diagnostics of the Professional and Value Orientations of an Individual” questionnaire (N.A. Samoylik), and the Value Orientations technique (O.I. Motkova, T.A. Ogneva). The Mann-Whitney U-test was used to verify the statistical significance of the dif-ferences between groups of employees with the service experience of up to 3 years and more than 10 years. In conclusion, the authors outline the prospects for further psychological research.</jats:p>
