Abstract

In the 21st century, political culture continues to play a crucial role in determining the future of the State. Modern ways of consolidating citizens among themselves and with socio-political associations acquire new meanings and development strategies through network organization and Internet communication. The actualization and mobilization of Russian users’ resources around the digital political agenda are gaining new resonance. The modern Internet space acts as a translator of political meanings and scenarios involving modern youth. In view of this, a political culture is being formed, the study of which will build socio-political preferences and prospects for the development of Russian society. As a result of the study, the authors were able to identify three clusters based on the political characteristics, preferences and perspectives of Russian students. Among them: “Con-servative patriots”, adherents of strong government and patriotic feelings and traditions; “Apolitical”, mostly de-tached, without a clear political position; “Active oppositionists” who are critical of the government, as well as having great political potential for real change. Each cluster is unique in its views on the political future of the country, the level of political consciousness and self-determination, as well as the student youth’s idea of actu-alizing a national idea that can act as a unifying political force. Based on the similarities and differences in the political culture of each cluster, we can formulate recommendations for effective political communication be-tween political actors and young people for further interaction and increasing the level of patriotism, consolida-tion and articulation of youth preferences around the national ideas of Russia.
