Abstract
Over the past few decades, the concept of cultural creation has become widespread in the socio-humanitarian research space, but it has not yet acquired a clear and distinct semantic meaning and is often identified with creativity, which raises doubts about the appropriateness of using the desired category. The research objective is a comprehensive contextual analysis of the concept of cultural creation and the differentiation of the latter from the category of creativity. The relevance of the research is determined by the need to clarify the content of the concept and the specifics of the phenomenon of cultural creation. The article underlined the semantic po-lyphony of the concept of creativity and reveals the inner and outer sides of the dialectical interaction of tradi-tions and innovations in creative activity. The scientific novelty of the research consists in the identification of cultural, semantic, ontological, epistemological, axiological and combinatorial approaches to the definition of the concept of cultural creation and the development of author’s (narrow and broad) definitions of this category. The result of the research is the identification of the phases of the cultural creation process, which includes the stages of introduction to culture (enculturation), exploration of culture (acculturation) and absorption of culture (inculturation), integration into culture, cultural identification, self-creation, self-realization, transformation and establishment of cultural values, as well as preservation and transmission the last ones.
