Abstract
The mountain steppes of the Trans-Baikal Territory – Dauria - are located on the border of Russia with Mongo-lia and China. They constitute a cultural heritage site inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, requiring protection and safeguarding at all levels. The importance of the Daurian steppes is due to the unique biodiver-sity of flora and fauna, as well as the historical evidence of the nomadic culture of the local population. From a cultural point of view, the main logic of the digital protection of Dauria is to preserve the cultural identity of this place with the help of innovative technologies, including artificial intelligence, to ensure the preservation of the authenticity of historical, archaeological and biological artifacts. The article attempts to identify strategies for the digital protection of the world cultural heritage that are applicable to any of its objects, including cross-border ones. These included five key areas that involve detailing information about a cultural heritage site, clarifying it, making it universal, visualizing it and popularizing it in the context of globalization, while preserving its cultural identity.
