Abstract
<jats:p>В России, как полилингвальном социуме, языковая ситуация требует взвешенной языковой политики. Поддержанию и развитию миноритарных языков способствует издание научных журналов филологического профиля при университетах и академических структурах. В то время как журналы большинства северокавказских научных и образовательных учреждений ориентируются на проблемы сохранения местной этнической идентичности, журнал «Научная мысль Кавказа» в его лингвистической части нацелен на интеграцию усилий филологов в трансляции цивилизационной и культурной значимости каждого этнообъединения Юга России независимо от его численности.</jats:p> <jats:p>In Russia, as a multilingual society, the language situation requires a deliberate language policy. With a single majority language functioning both as a state language and as a means of interethnic communication, it is necessary to carefully treat other languages, since they act as guardians of ethnic identity. The publication of scientific journals of a philological profile contributes to the maintenance and development of minority languages. The functions of such journals vary and depend on the initially formulated mission. The journals of most scientific and educational institutions of the North Caucasus focus on the preservation of local ethnic identity. In contrast, the journal Scientific Thought of the Caucasus, which exists on the basis of Southern Federal University, linguistically aims to integrate the efforts of philologists in broadcasting the civilizational and cultural significance of each ethnic association in Southern Russia, regardless of its size.</jats:p>
