Abstract
<jats:p>There in many countries around the world, problems about freshwater production facilities’ shortage in the future are being raised. Almost 70% of the world's water consumption is accounted for the agricultural sector, one of whose branches is livestock. At cows’ loose keeping, the water’s using main share for technological needs is the milking parlor cleaning and it ranges from 9% till 14% of farm’s the total water consumption. The purpose of this research is the water consumption during the «Parallel 2x20» and «Carousel» type milking parlors with 50 places’ external maintenance cleaning analyzing. The number of dairy cattle is 596 and 1200 heads accordingly, the average daily milk yield is 40 kg/head, and milking is three times a day making. The «Pulsar M» DU-15 electronic flowmeters (Russia) were installed to quantify there in milking parlors water using. Water consumption was taken into account for the floor, walls, and the milking machines’ exterior washing, so as cows udders before milking, solutions for hoof treatment and precleaning them preparing. The average daily water consumption in with a «Parallel» type milking parlor was 14,243 m3, in the «Carousel» that of 35,970 m3. The changes in water consumption during the year were associated with existing farm work organization and seasonal technological operations at milking parlor adjusting. Water consumption ranged from 1,9% to 25,9% in depending on the quarter. In specific indicators’ terms per day, water consumption was 26,6 liters/m2 and 37,6 liters/m2 per unit area, 24 liters and 30 liters per head, 0,6 liters and 0,74 liters per kilogram of milk for milking parlors with «Parallel» and «Carousel» installations respectively.</jats:p>
