Abstract
The article analyzes the concept of traditional values in modern Russian political science. The study identifies and systematizes the main methodological approaches to the study of this phenomenon: socio-constructivist, traditionalist-conservative and comparative-political science. Special attention is paid to the historical and political context of the concept's actualization, and its evolution from the imperial period to the present is traced. The key discussion fields that have developed around the concept are considered, in particular, the dilemmas of identity and archaization, sovereignty and isolationism. The methodological basis of the research includes discourse analysis, comparative historical and institutional analysis, and comparative methods. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the systematization of the methodological landscape of research on traditional values and the identification of the main vectors of scientific debate.
