Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic disorder characterized by high blood sugar levels due to issues with insulin secretion or action. Type 1 DM is autoimmune, while Type 2 DM is linked to insulin resistance and obesity. Diagnosis and monitoring involve tests. Advanced tests, such as C-peptide, help differentiate between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Early detection and tight control of blood glucose levels are vital in preventing complications such as diabetic ketoacidosis, retinopathy, nephropathy, and cardiovascular diseases.
