Використання підходу, орієнтованого на сильні сторони, у роботі з вимушеними переселенцями [Using a Strengths-Based Approach in Working with Internally Displaced Persons]

<jats:p>This work aims to outline a strategy for working with IDPs, which is based on the development of their resources and strengths, strengthening stress resistance, which should ultimately ensure the social recovery of a person who finds himself in a situation of forced resettlement.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The war in Ukraine led to the appearance of a significant number of social work clients from among internally displaced and evacuated persons. These people usually have intense trauma and need social support to adapt to new living conditions. Until recently, the paternalistic approaches used in social work reduce the initiative of the immigrants themselves and form consumer interests in them, which raises the demand for approaches that rely on the empowerment of clients as a way of developing their ability to overcome life's difficulties. This is also a strengths-oriented approach, which is focused on actualizing the state of clients, accepting circumstances that have already happened, raising their self-esteem, developing skills and abilities, assessing their own resources, realistic goals and activities to achieve them, the ability to choose and the willingness to take take responsibility for this choice and the organization of your own life.</jats:p>
